Course Overview
By 2030, 20% of the U.S. population will be age 65 or older. As the Baby Boomer generation reshapes expectations around independence and community living, occupational therapists are uniquely positioned to support safe, accessible, and autonomy-centered home environments.
This AOTA approved podcast explores the evolution of the aging in place movement, current research on home modifications, and the expanding role of occupational therapy in proactive and reactive environmental interventions. Through research review and real-world case examples, participants will gain practical strategies to assess environmental barriers, recommend modifications, and support occupational performance across the aging continuum.
The online class is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, etc.) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Completion of this course will reward the participant with .1 CEUs or 1.0 contact hours, following completion of the presentation and a ≥ 80% score on the quiz. You will have 90 days to complete this course.
