Course Overview
In this distance learning course, you will learn how patients experiencing hand weakness can improve their ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) through the effective use of a variety of assistive and adaptive devices. Specific populations affected by hand impairment, common clinical presentations, and evidence-based traditional treatment options will be discussed in depth. In addition, you will explore the latest commercially available assistive technologies designed to support hand strength and function, and discover practical strategies to help patients increase their independence and confidence during everyday occupational tasks.
The online class is intended for medical professionals (e.g. OT/OTA, PT/PTA, Physicians, etc.) directly related to the rehabilitation of a patient or client. To participate in this CEU and receive credit, the participant must be a licensed, treating clinician. Completion of this course will reward the participant with .15 CEUs or 1.5 contact hours, following completion of the presentation and a ≥ 80% score on the quiz. You will have 90 days to complete this course.
